Welcome to Moore Rabbits Rabbitry!
Hello, Moore Rabbits Rabbitry is a family oriented rabbitry ran by myself (Shawna), my husband Jack, and our 4 children Rachel, Kiersten, Alex, and Levi. We have a growing rabbitry consisting mostly of Mini Lops, we also have New Zealands, a few Netherland Dwafs, a Jersey Wooly.
We started this fun loving bunny hobby three years ago with our fist purchase of a little Holland Lop for our now 12 year old daughter for 4-H. We had only that one for 6 months when we decided all 4 kids should have one of their own. There weren't many breeders in our area so we decided we wanted to start breeding to have quality rabbits for the local 4-H kids. That was decided after I went to look at what was suppose to be a Holland Buck and when I arrived to look at him I could clearly see from my past experience in showing rabbits myself in 4-H that he was a Mini Lop buck. I bought him none the less and our oldest took him to the fair and won BOB with him pretty good for a rabbit that was suppose to be a Holland.
We then heard of the first ARBA show that we attended in Marietta in 2006 and very quickly realized that the rabbits we had were not any good at all. After a long talk with the oldest two children realized that this was what they really wanted to do, and in order to it and be able to compete we needed to release what we had and start with new quality stock. So here we are a year later, one long trip to Illinois, several other purchases and a LOT of questions.
We now emphasize on Mini Lops, have attended a few more shows, and just recently won our first leg. We have tried to improve our stock and currently have 5 litters of mini lops.
